role model
There are no perfect people in this world. Therefore , people can't expect "role model" to be the one. The father wants his son to be like him, so he become a role model. What will happen if the son realize that his father is not someone he wants to be? The father must show some of his positive thing to his offspring. When time goes by, he should tell his son the mistakes that he made in his life in order for him to avoid.

I think that's what a real role mode should be. A person who shares the failures and successes of life with you.
