Napoleon Bonaparte , the forgotten tragic hero

Napoleon was the emperor of France. People admire him account of his glory and countless victories. Being thirsty of power, Napoleon's tragic flaw, lead him to his downfall. The continental system , peninsular war, and the invasion of Russia are the result of his flaw. But somehow the punishment doesn't excess the sin. After his surrender , he was sent to an island and lived there for the rest of his life. Is Napoleon is the tragic hero? Well , it merely depend on people's perception and the way they interpret it.

Actually, I felt the same way when I was reading about Napoleon. I thought that he was a tragic hero but being exiled for the time being until he died leaves countless questions unanswered. I mean I would think of him as a tragic hero. He made some unwise decisions that lead to his downfall; the people were angry with him and forced to exile. I think that kings and queens tend to be characterized as tragic heroes due to their decisions.
